My Story
…can you relate?

“Looking from the outside in, everything was perfect, but I didn’t feel that way.”
Gaining clarity and redefining purpose.
In 1999, I moved to NYC for my residency in emergency medicine. It was the beginning of what I thought was my dream. I checked all the boxes. I bought an apartment on the Upper West side, met my husband, got a dog, and had lots of friends. Everything was perfect. Emergency medicine is a great profession. It provides for those in great need. And, as I grew as a doctor I began to recognize in myself a need to provide for others in new ways. I wasn’t able to truly express myself in this role. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was missing.
What I loved about being a doctor was helping people become healthier and easing their distress. After 17 years of working in a busy, urban ER, I began to feel a shift. It was becoming clear that this way of working was no longer feeding my soul. My definition of health and providing healing was beginning to expand.

“I yearned to create deep, lasting, impactful changes.”
The journey toward a deeper connection.
While the interpersonal interactions were rewarding, I was more focused on treating symptoms, prescribing medications, and moving too quickly. I had no time to focus on the root causes of the distress and disease I was witnessing daily.
I yearned to create deep, lasting, impactful changes in their lives and health. It became clear that continuing as an ER physician did not feel like the right approach for me. I felt disconnected to my work and to myself. I needed to expand my role as a healer. Being a healer is my passion, how I approached it needed to change.
Feeling stuck and not knowing what to focus on next, I hired my first coach. It was transformative and life changing.
“All changes start from within.”
Life is more fun and fulfilling when you create it, rather than letting it happen.
From there, I immersed myself in wellness and nutrition, then into an intensive leadership and coach-training program. All the while, diving deep into the relationship with myself through mindfulness, meditation, and energy practices. All changes start from within. Getting more deeply connected to the self allows for a deeper connection with other aspects of life.
Doctors focus on fixing problems. I now support people from a more holistic perspective — with specific tools and guidance to find and cultivate a deeper connection to themselves. I help find their answers and power from within, to tap into their inner wisdom to create the life they want with a focus on achieving optimum balance and wellbeing.
To me, wellbeing means having all aspects of your life in alignment. It is created intentionally. It comes from having your relationships — with others, yourself, your career, spirituality, and involvement in community — all supporting a life that reflects your most important goals and values.
Life is more fun and fulfilling when you create it, rather than letting it happen.
